new arrivals...

One of our latest arrivals is this stunning antique armoire circa 1800, it is amoire de marriage from the Lorraine region in France. It is made from oak.

It has beautiful flowers sculptured on the façade and has been in the same family since 1820. The price is 1,200 euros.

 



Another new arrival is this lovely commode/coiffeuse, inside it has 3 drawers for storing linen, clothing etc.

It dates back to the end of the 19th century and is made from walnut. The price is 400 euros.

This gorgeous tableau was sold at the weekend hence the spot in which he previously called home looks a little empty.

a fabulous idea...

We had quite a few antique pharmacy bottles which are the same as the ones that appear in the photo above, but these have been selling like hot cakes and the end result is that we only have a few remaining.

Think that they look fabulous when displayed on an old globe stand, we have a few in the garage so will bring one for next Tuesday when the shop is open.

new arrival ...

Bonjour à tous,

Almost a month has passed since we opened Sur La Place and in that time a lot of our lovely items have found new homes including the antique mannequin which is currently on her way to her new place of residence in Belgium.

We are in the process of restocking with lots of lovely new and not so new, finds.

One of our new arrivals is this fabulous fire screen.....

I love the pretty trim surrounding the material which itself is stunning. The detail is incredible and I noticed the bird cage detail this morning when I came to photograph the fire screen.

There is something about the colour blue which is timeless and it always seems to have a special allure to it.

I am now off to stock up the shop for tomorrow.

Bienvenue à Sur La Place Brocante & Decoration,

I thought that I would share some photos of the boutique with you.......

This adorable collection of butterflies was sold this morning and it made me a little sad as it is the second set that I have sold this week and as you know I adore them...

For those of you that live locally, we have a fabulous clock with the word BORDEAUX on it....

We have a section in the shop which is dedicated to moroccan and Indian style objects.....

This painting is fabulous and I think that it looks great both hanging on the wall or displayed on an easel....

In one of the main windows, we have a range of items that have been painted....

The birdcage comes complete with wee bird in nest......

 We have a couple of the Mathilde M frontons left, which look great when displayed above a door...

We also have a few chinoserie type objects in stock, love this fire screen....

The candle holders that you see in this photo are very heavy hence the requirement for the extra large candles....
